WHEREAS the AGS Constitution Article IV. Section 2c. states that AGS Council has the authority to create Staff positions and make appointments to these positions
 
WHEREAS Campus Communications Director (CCD) is a staff position of AGS Council
 
WHEREAS Jessie Weber, the incumbent CCD, has put her name forward for 2009-2010
 
LET IT THEREFORE BE RESOLVED that Jessie Weber be appointed the 2009-2010 Campus Communications Director
 
 
09-58 Social Committee Summer Funding

WHEREAS AGS is committed to hosting events for graduate students,
 
WHEREAS the Social Committee of AGS facilitates the creation and execution of these events,
 
WHEREAS many graduate students remain on campus during the summer months,
 
LET IT THEREFORE BE RESOLVED that AGS allot $1,000 from the Special Projects fund to 
 
the Social Committee to host 3 events from July-September for graduate students to attend 
09-59 Approve Working Budget

WHEREAS the AGS Constitution Article V, Section 5 states that the VP Finance and President of AGS are authorized to prepare a budget for the fiscal year starting July 1st.
WHEREAS Section E, Part 1 and Part 3 of the bylaws states that AGS should have a working budget prepared for the new council members in order to resume normal monetary activities.
WHEREAS a working budget will allow AGS to implement summer operations in an organized and clear manner.
LET IT THEREFORE BE RESOLVED that AGS approves the following working budget for the’09/’10 fiscal year.

WHEREAS in the interest of efficiency and transparency of AGS, and fairness to the applicant, AGS has voted on, and approved an application for monetary requests in 2007 (Resolution 07-78)
 
WHEREAS Resolution 07-78 was amended to the current format of the “Associated Graduate Students Funding Request Application” by Resolution 09-05
 
WHEREAS Resolution 09-05 states that the application may be amended at will to meet the needs of both AGS and applicants.
 
LET IT THEREFORE BE RESOLVED that Resolution 07-78 be amended to the form as seen in the adjoining PDF document titled as, “Funding Request Application Associated Graduate Students”, maintaining the following guidelines:
 
1.     The application is accessible from the AGS website or office
 
2.     The requester’s application appears in its entirety in the appropriate AGS agenda, and voted on before any approval of funds,
 
3.     The application may be amended at will to meet the needs of both AGS and applicants.

WHEREAS the AGS Bylaws state that the Vice President Administrative Affairs is responsible for graduate student committee appointments
 
WHEREAS these appointments are conditioned on the approval of AGS Council
 
WHEREAS Council members are strongly encouraged to sit on an AGS, Senate, or Campus committee
 
WHEREAS most Committee Appointments are traditionally made at the first meeting of new Council
 
WHEREAS most Committee terms begin during the summer or the beginning of the school year
 

LET IT THEREFORE BE RESOLVED that the following graduate students be appointed to the following committee.

Fawn Huisman to the Senate Council on Research Computing and Libraries (CORCL)

Josh Gellers to the Sustainability Committee
