WHEREAS the AGS Council has the authority to create Staff positions and make appointments to these positions;
WHEREAS AGS has established the staff position of Campus Communications Director (CCD);
WHEREAS this position must serve the broad needs of AGS Council;
WHEREAS a clear job description is the best method of ensuring the CCD performs to the standards Council expects;
WHEREAS the executive committee has determined the following job description to accurately and comprehensively capture the necessary aspects of the CCD job:
Reports to the VP Administrative Affairs
The Campus Communications Director (CCD) is charged with facilitating and executing communication between the Council and the greater graduate student population. The responsibilities of the CCD include, but are not limited to: -Work with ALL AGS Executives on issues regarding mass communications.
-Distributes information in whatever form(s) necessary in a timely fashion
-Ensures timely and comprehensive Advertising of AGS events utilizing multiple methods of delivery and campus outlets
-Generates and distributes a quarterly AGS newsletter
-Prepares a bi-weekly newsletter for department/Council distribution
-Maintains campus calendaring of all AGS events and activities
-Attends monthly staff meetings
-Makes regular reports to the President.
Therefore LET IT BE RESOLVED that AGS adopts the above job description as the official duties of the CCD;
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED that AGS Council retains the right to determine if the above job duties are being performed to Council’s expectations and assess the ongoing need of a CCD staff position.
