AGS Council Legislation 

Resolution 14-10 In Support of the Grad Pass System

 WHEREAS the Preamble of the Constitution of the Associated Graduate Students states that the responsibility of AGS "to represent graduate students in the university community and elsewhere" and "to promote those needs and rights"; and

WHEREAS the GradPass system was implemented in its new form in fall of 2013, allowing more graduate students night and weekend parking privileges; and

WHEREAS both graduate students and the university benefit from graduate students having easy and convent access to their laboratories and offices for research purposes; and

WHEREAS Transportation and Distribution Services (TDS) and AGS have successfully and productively collaborated on the implementation of the GradPass system; and

WHEREAS approximately 30% of eligible student and 23% of all graduate students have signed up for the GradPass system;

NOW, THEREFORE, the Council of the Associated Graduate Students does hereby RESOLVE as follows:

That this Council supports future collaborations between AGS and TDS

That this Council recommends that the benefits of the GradPass system be continued and even expanded

That this Council acknowledges and appreciates the efforts of TDS and Ron Flemming in implementing the GradPass system.
