AGS Services
AGS provides many services to graduate and professional students here at UCI. We are involved in the annual negotiations of the Graduate Student Health Insurance Plan (GSHIP) and provide representation at the administrative level when major rules or regulations are made by UCI. Many of our council members sit on university committees that have a direct effect on student life such as the housing committee, graduate council, and GSHIP advisory board.
Our organization also hosts quarterly parties at the Anthill Pub. AGS traditionally hosts at least one party in the Pub each quarter where graduate students can enjoy two free beverages (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) and get free food. The first Pub party of the year is held during Welcome Week and is co-sponsored by the Office of Research and Graduate Students who pay $1,000 towards food.
Each quarter, AGS publishes an online newsletter highlighting many of the events and activities of that past quarter. We also provide web-hosting services for all graduate student or graduate student club. Lastly, each year, AGS sets aside a portion of its budget to fund programs and events aimed at improving the social and academic environment of the UCI campus for graduate students.
