The Associated Graduate Students (AGS) is pleased to announce a call for award nominations to recognize an outstanding graduate student, graduate staff or faculty member, and a graduate faculty mentor at the University of California Irvine. Descriptions of the three awards are listed below. Graduate students may submit nominations for more than one category.

To nominate an individual please complete the attached one page nomination form and send to Annessa Stagner, Vice President of Internal Affairs, at vpinternal@ags.uci.edu by Friday May 1 at 5PM for consideration. Awards will be made in June.

Debbie Davis Graduate Student Award
The Debbie Davis Award recognizes an outstanding graduate student advocate and leader. Honoring Debbie Davis, a former graduate student at UCI, this award is meant to recognize a current graduate student who has committed their time and dedication to improving graduate student life at UCI.

Kathy Alberti FACULTY AND Staff Award
The Kathy Alberti Award recognizes an outstanding faculty or staff member’s dedication to graduate student advocacy and promotion at UCI. Honoring Kathy Alberti, this award is meant to honor a current faculty or staff member who has gone “above and beyond” in their commitment to improving the graduate student experience at UCI.

Faculty Mentoring Award
The Faculty Mentoring Award recognizes an outstanding tenured or non-tenured faculty member who has excelled in advising one or more graduate students on his or her thesis or dissertation. AGS seeks to honor a faculty mentor who inspires and guides their students in their work, and whose dedication to graduate learning has made significant contributions to both the professional development and quality of life of their students.
