I have been on the phone with Kathy Lyon several times today. It is her understanding that the Department of Justice is even now reviewing materials, including "The Wenatchee Report," regarding the Wenatchee sex ring cases, and is very close to reaching a decision.

NOW is the time to write, call, or fax the Justice Department if you wish to encourage them to proceed with a federal review. At this point it appears that a federal probe would be the best means to resolve this issue once and for all. Time is of the essence in expressing your support because hopefully their decision will have some impact on Pastor Roberson's trial which begins on Monday.

The person who has been handed the responsibility for reviewing the Wenatchee cases is:

Daniel Mestes
Department of Justice
Civil Rights Division, Criminal Section
Room 7641
10th and Pennsylvania N.W.
Washington, D.C. 20530
(202) 514-5278
(202) 514-8336 FAX

The phone number for the Criminal Section of the Civil Rights Division is:

(202) 514-3204

Concerns can also be expressed to:

Richard Roberts, Chief
Department of Justice
Civil Rights Division, Criminal Section

(same address as above)

OR directly to Janet Reno herself, which certainly wouldn't hurt:

Janet Reno
U.S. Attorney General
10th and Constitution
Suite 440
Washington, D.C. 20530

(Sorry, don't have a phone or fax number on this one. Anyone who does?)

Thank you all.
Martha Hill
