Resolution 13-45 To Elect Abinaya Murugesan as Communications Director

  WHEREAS the AGS Constitution Article IV. Section 2c. states that AGS Council has the authority to create Staff positions and make appointments to these positions,

WHEREAS we currently lack a staff member to organize and distribute our communications.  

WHEREAS AGS has undertaken many projects this year, such as the AGS Symposium, Travel Grant Program, and Bagel Day which require extensive advertising and distribution of information to AGS constituents and university stakeholders.

WHEREAS AGS has advertised the existance of this position verbally to council, as well as through advertisement on the AGS webpage.

WHEREAS Abinaya Murugesan has demonstrated interest in the position.

LET IT THEREFORE BE RESOLVED that AGS employ Abinaya Murugesan as staff under the VP Admin to address the aforementioned issues and to work with the VP Admin.

LET IT FURTHER BE RESOLVED that AGS pay Abinaya Murugesan $200 per month for the month of November 2012 through June 2013, to be drawn from the VP Admin's budget.
