I’d like to thank Gerald Parham, director of Palo Verde for many years, for taking action to address the dearth of visitor parking in the Palo Verde community. Gerald stepped down on November 1 and has decided to move on to another leadership role in UCI Athletics.
Here’s what Gerald put in place for us: Flex Visitor Parking. Starting about a month from now, 8 parking spots near the Community Center will be converted into Flex Spots, which operate as normal spots during the week but on Friday evenings through Sunday night, these spots will operate as visitor parking spots. Residents will still be allowed to park in these spots at all times, but guests registered as visitors on the online system may choose to park there on weekends. We’d like to encourage residents to avoid parking in these spots on weekends if there are other spots available out of consideration to other graduate students.
